SERENDIPITOUS
SERENDIPITOUS is an adjective that describes
accidentally being in the right place at the right time like bumping into an
old friend in some unusual occasion, or finding a hundred dollar bill on the ground.
It comes from a fairy tale called “The Three Princes of Serendip” in which
three princes make one lucky and surprising discovery after another.
“It was SERENDIPITOUS when Thomas found the ring
he thought he had lost under the cupboard.”
“Perhaps the meeting wasn’t SERENDIPITOUS at all…”
“It
was pure SERENDIPITOUS coincidence.”

inglês, “serendipitous” é um adjetivo que descreve alguma coisa que está no
lugar certo na hora certa, como se encontrar com um velho amigo numa ocasião
totalmente inesperada ou achar uma nota de cem reais no chão. A expressão vem de um conto de fadas chamado “Os
Três Príncipes de Serendip”, no qual três príncipes fazem descobertas
maravilhosas, uma após a outra.
