LEISURE SICKNESS

You were looking forward to some fun and relaxation over the holidays, so how annoying that you caught a cold and felt really ill. If it’s any consolation, so many people regularly have the same experience that psychologists now have a name for it – LEISURE SICKNESS: those illnesses which always seem to occur during weekends and holidays.

“The average American needs three vacation days before feeling relaxed, and 43 percent of us return being overwhelmed by the work we have to do. Then, there’s the 3 percent who develop flu-like LEISURE SICKNESS during weekends and holidays.” (Washington Post, 7^th August, 2005)
